I Heart FMS - Spring Donation Campaign

In order for the PTA to continue to fund things like student programs, athletics and fine arts requests, educational enhancements, and teacher appreciation events, we must ask our families and friends for financial support. We are thankful for those of you who have already made a donation and/or volunteered with us. If you haven’t donated yet, please consider making a contribution today. Follow this link to donate now or more information can be found here.

Based on the outcome of this donation campaign, the FMS PTA can determine what we can continue to provide to our school moving forward.

Donations to Frankford PTA include the following benefits:

  • 100% of the funds will go to directly your PTA for exclusive use at Frankford
  • no third party catalog sales or fundraisers that take a part of your contribution
  • 100% of your donations are tax-deductible
  • You can double your contributions if your company matches charitable donations

If you have any questions, please contact Jenny Olmsted, VP of Ways and Means, at WaysandMeans@FrankfordPTA.org.

8th Grade Celebration

With your support, the Frankford PTA can host the 8th Grade Celebration on May 25, 2018. The Frankford PTA covers some of the costs of the celebration event but we rely on monetary and gift donations from families and the community to cover the balance of costs for the event.

Do you own a business you would like to promote? In appreciation for any monetary support* ($1000, $500 or $250.00*) donation , we will put your name and/or business logo on the back of the 400 t-shirts that will be given to each 8th grade student. Please view the request letter here.

If you have any questions, please contact Shela Mobarak, 8th Grade Celebration Committee Member, at programs@frankfordpta.org.

Welcome from the PTA President

Welcome to all of our FMS families. My name is Alisa Makler and I'm president of the Frankford PTA for the 2017-18 school year. I am excited to be back at FMS with my 6th grader, and I have two high school kids who are Frankford alums  - both had great experiences here!

Many of you have already joined our PTA and made generous donations of your time and money to support us. For that, we thank you so much. We do not hold typical fundraisers that you may be used to from elementary school (like cookie dough sales, auctions, carnivals, etc). Instead, we have a simple donation campaign where 100% of the funds raised go directly back to our school. Please consider this if you can. In addition to the obvious ways your PTA supports Frankford, there are other benefits to joining and volunteering. You will meet new people, have a voice, and you will be in the know. Also, please likeĀ us on Facebook (Frankford Middle School PTA) it is another easy way to stay connected.

It is an honor to serve Frankford and I look forward to getting to know you all. Reach out to me and I'll be happy to help, answer questions or find someone who can. Please get involved. It's worth it!

                                                                                                                                                                                      Alisa Makler

Programs

Within Reach” Reflections Art Contest

This past October, with our Reflections Art Contest, we offered a drawing for "lunch of your choice with the Principal" as an incentive for students to enter the Reflections contest.   Sara's name was chosen randomly out of the group of 11 FMS Reflections entrants.

February 28th was the day that Sara S. had the lunch of her choice (Chik-fil-A) with Mr. Vernon.

For questions, please contact Kate Hoffman at artsineducation@frankfordpta.org.

Community News

Thank you for donating to the Peanut Butter drive In partnership with the Plano Mayor and City Council! Frankford was a drop-off site and all that was collected will be used to feed our community.

Spirit Nights

Our Frankford PTA participates in spirit nights where our FMS families can get together while we earn funds from the receipts. All monies are deposited into the PTA general fund for use towards programs and activities on campus. As events get scheduled, they will be posted here.

Eat more chicken! Please join us on Thursday, May 10th from 5:00-8:00pm for Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A. Please mention "Frankford" at check-out. 4523 Frankford Rd, Dallas, TX 75287 (near Frankford and the Tollway) Google Map

For more information, please contact Anisa Johnson, Business Partnerships Chair, at  businesspartnernerships@FrankfordPTA.org

PTA Membership

Please join our PTA and support the many programs at Frankford. Membership provides immediate access to the online directory, and receipt of our e-mail newsletter, the Frankford Flash. The Flash provides communication about upcoming events and programs at Frankford. Membership perks can be found here.

 Donations

At Frankford, we do not plan to implement any additional fundraisers. Instead, we ask for donations, which are 100% tax deductible. A recommended donation of $50 per child allows us to provide every child with agenda, supports the in-school and family programs, classroom enhancements, student incentives and rewards, teacher and staff appreciation, and much, much more. Unlike traditional fundraisers, 100% of your contribution goes to your PTA for exclusive use at Frankford. Please donate!

  Volunteering

We appreciate your helping hands to staff our events and programs. Please join us! You can select specific events or become a "Happy to Help" Volunteer and we will contact you periodically as events are planned. Students needing hours for volunteer organizations are welcome and appreciated!  Volunteering is a great way to be involved at your child's school.

 PE Classes & Athletics

Students taking P.E. are required to wear a dress code compliant PE uniform.  It is suggested you have more than one set in case one gets lost, or doesn't come home for a while to visit the washing machine.

Seventh and eighth grade students enrolled in athletics are required to wear Frankford Athletics practice wear. Football especially is hot and sweaty, so consider purchasing more than one set.

No student will be allowed to participate in athletics (including practices and tryouts) without completing all athletic forms and turning in your health physical exam forms.

All athletic forms can be located and completed online at here. While this system will allow you to complete paperwork forms electronically online, you will still need to turn-in the medical forms found at: UIL Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form to the coaches.

SPORTS STADIUMS

PISD Stadium Rules can be read here. Admission fees: $4.00 for adults, $2.00 for students.
